Burster Directory FAQ

Can i buy separate certificate for encrypting blends?

The separate certificate for encrypting blend files can't be bought anymore  ... but you can buy PRO access to the Burster Directory - which is in the same price as the certificate, and as the bonus you get following features:
- automatic encrypting of the blend file by web service
- automatic compression of the blend file
- very easy uploading - one-click
- very easy publishing - one-click
- users get ability to rate your files, share on facebook.

In the package you also get certificate for manual encryption (it will appear at "My Burster protection" list), which you can use for manual encrypting of your blend files.

How the Burster directory works

The idea that stands behind the Burster Directory is to give the beginner users the ability to upload and publish their blend files. It is like web-hosting but dedicated only to blender files.

Just after you purchase the Pro Access to the Burster Directory, you will get the ability to encrypt your files online. You just upload your blend file and ... thats it. All the process of compressing and encrypting is done "automagically". The html code for embedding your blend file will be created automatically, after you click in the uploaded file name you will see the page with embedded file - you can use this code at your website. You can download the encrypted file and do with it whatever you want. Including publication with custom css (standard layout is the geta3d.com layout).

Except that, you can use the certificate that will be available in "My Burster Protection" section to manually encrypt your file. This certificate is valid for one year, for first machine used for encrypting. To manually encrypt your file you need to use "encode" tool (available to download from "My Burster Protection" section)

Basic Access offers almost the same functionality, but doesn't include the certificate for manual encryption.

Is my source blend file stored somewhere on your server?

Your source blend file is never stored at our disk. We encrypt your file and the "plain" version is deleted immediately. There is no physical possibility that someone reads your source blend file. This is also related to the decoding process. Decoded file is never stored at the "client" disk. Our algorithm is quite smart and very hard to crack/hack. Only you have the access to your files and you decide either to keep them private or publish.

Is my file automatically published after upload?

You decide if you want to publish your file to the Burster Directory or you want to keep it private. If you look at the Burster Directory - it has a few mine public files (user: kroliszewski), but i have there a lot of files that i do not want to publish, I just send links to my list items to my friends/customers and those files aren't listed in the Public Burster Directory.

Can i test the Burster Directory for free?

Yes! It is free to use with a file size and count limit.
